Coming soon........... Brisa Gel Nails and Hollywood toes!

If you have been looking for a gel nail to try, look no further. Brisa™ is hypo-allergenic and odour-free. It’s like a coat of armour for the nails and the luminous shine is unparalleled. Brisa is a permanent top coat applied to your own strong natural nails, or used over a tip. Brisa creates strong, thin, light, natural looking nails. So beautiful, it’s hard to believe it's gel. It is also used on the toe nails to give you a permanent French Manicure known as "Hollywood Toes".

This fantastic service should be arriving at Topaz Nail Design in April, so watch this space for details and special introductory offers!

Things are getting pretty busy round here for Christmas and New Year. I've had to open my appointment book for the Sunday's before Christmas and New Year so as not to disappoint anyone!  If you haven't made your appointment, then give me a call..... You don't want to be opening your presents and holding your champagne glass with less than perfect hands and nails! Don't forget your feet for those party shoes too!

If you're stuck for present ideas, I have a good range of Creative products in stock including Solar products and Scentsations. For those who like to be pampered rather than doing the hard work themselves, don't forget my gift vouchers available from £5. All retail purchases until Christmas will come presented in a complimentary organza bag.  Give someone the gift of beautiful hands and feet and they'll love you forever!

I've done it! I had my Masters qualification theory and practical exam today, and am over the moon to say I have passed!  It was pretty nerve wracking, and the way my hands were shaking, didn't think I'd be able to pick my brush up, lol!  I can now call myself "A Creative Nail Design Master Artist" and will be doing lots of celebrating on my holidays, I can tell you!

- 06/07/07

Sorry I've not updated for a while, but I've never stopped! As I have previously mentioned, I am doing my Master Qualification this year and this has involved taking a further six courses which combined with all my regular and new clients has left me with very little spare time!  I should be getting my date through any time now for my exam and I will make sure you are the first to know how I get on! Business is really good, and I've had to put in some 12 hour days recently to fit everyone in!

As I am going on holiday in just under a fortnight, I am looking for ways to add extra hours to the day and days to the week to fit in everyone so no-one goes disappointed, so I may not get another chance to give you all an update before my hols (somewhere I have to fit in my hair appointment, get all the bits waxed and do my OWN nails).  If I don't get the chance, I hope everyone who is going away has a brilliant time, and for all you that are staying here, I'll try to send some of the Marmaris sunshine your way!

Well I have been open for four weeks now within The Head Shed, and all I can say is Wow!  The feedback I've had from my clients old and new has been fantastic.  You all really love my treatment room and have made many lovely comments about how welcoming and relaxing it is.  So a big thank you to you all!

Things are going exceptionally well, and I get busier by the week.  I had an interesting juggling act fitting you all in for this Bank Holiday weekend, but I've managed to accommodate everyone thank goodness.

You are all loving the fantastic products that I got in stock and have raved about the SolarOil products and Scentsations especially, I've had to get another order in already to stock back up!

Just to let you know, I will be going on holiday on 19th July, so my last appointments will be on the 18th.  I'll be away for a fortnight, so please make sure you get your appointments booked in plenty of time so you're not left disappointed.

Hope you all have a great Bank Holiday, and I'll update you all soon......

Woohoo! At last things have worked out and I am open for business!  As I said previously, I decided to work freelance, and my first location is now up and running!  It is a lovely big room and has everything I need and more.  I've put my own personal touches in there, including pictures of some of my work, and I have to say, it is looking pretty good!  For details of where to find me, visit the reception page.  I've bought loads of fabulous Creative Nail goodies, including SpaPedicure home packs, Solar treatments and gorgeous smelling Scentsations hand & body, washes and lotions, mmmm!

My advertising and promotional activity will be starting the end of next week, so get your appointments in before the stampede ;)

In the meantime, I'm off to catch up on all the admin that's been created in the last week or so, what fun!

Does anyone know of a good colourist? My hair has turned completely grey in the last few weeks, lol! Due to factors outside of my control the premises that I was hoping to move into has fallen through. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement! After much juggling of paperwork and finances I have decided that my best option will to become freelance. This means I am not based in at just one address full-time. I have one salon lined up now, and hope to be operational from there by the end of this month, so lots of planning and organising! Obviously, I will keep all of my mailing list subscribers updated as to an opening date (and don't forget the goody bag I promised you!)

Off to jot down some more shopping lists for fabulous products for you all, and hope to back soon with opening details........ (Now where did I put that "Grecian 2000?")

Well have to say, London was amazing! I got to meet so many talented and interesting people from the nail and beauty industry. I bought loads of goodies for the new studio! Glynis did really well and was placed 7th in her division which for a first competition is brilliant, so well done Glynis. Even though the competition was nerve wracking and the standard was amazingly high, it has given me the bug..... So I think I'll be entering the  next nail competitions in October. I'm either very brave or slightly mad, but the buzz in the room was so exciting!

Talking of competitions, the trade magazine "Scratch" has published a 2 page spread on the "Dress A Nail" competition, in which I achieved 3rd place. It's a great feeling to see your face, name and work published in such a well respected magazine! I have placed a copy in my certificates if you would like a peek....

Just thought I'd give everyone an update on the progress of Topaz Nail Design finding a permanent base......

I have found premises in South Shields town centre that would be ideal for my nail studio.  I am now in the planning stages, organising builders, printing, advertising and lodging my proposal with South Tyneside Council.  Hopefully, things will get moving very quickly and I will have the studio of my (and I hope, your) dreams!

Anyone who joins my mailing list between now and the studio opening can expect a special something from me on their first appointment!

I am off to London this weekend to the biggest beauty trade show in the UK at eXcel.  Hopefully there will lots of brilliant new products for the new studio.  I am also modelling for Glynis Allen in the Level 2 Sculpting competition, and I'm sure you will join me in wishing her good luck!

That's all for now, but don't forget to keep checking back for updates on the opening of "Topaz Nail Design"

Hi to everyone who has taken the time to visit my site!

I wanted to  be a Nail Technician not  a Website Designer, so you will have to forgive me for any schoolgirl errors that I may have made!

I think the site is pretty much as I would like it, however, there is always room for improvement (in nails, as in website design!)

I really hope you will enjoy your time here and revisit often.  I have tried to make it as informative as possible without being to "preachy", however, nails are my life!  I love everything about them, from the basic anatomy that makes them the way that they are, to the fantastic advances in technology that can improve on what nature has given us.

As someone who is passionate about all things nails, hands and feet, I want the best for all of you.  My ultimate aim is for all my clients to advance from either tips or sculpts to a natural nail overlay.  This is where there is no artificial length to the nail.  You have come to me with nails maybe in a very poor, bitten condition, or maybe, just short nails.  I have extended the length using the method most suited to your particular nails and lifestyle.  From there, you have returned to me, as advised for regular rebalances.  Over time, your own natural nail has grown under the protective layer of acrylic I have applied........ Eventually, what we end up with, is your own nail, overlaid with acrylic product.

This means during this time, your nail has been protected from the wear and tear of day to day life, (and possibly, those irresistible urges to nibble!)  Because of the care that I take in treating your natural nail, and the fact that the only  products I use are from the industry leader, "Creative Nail Design" If you ever decide to have the overlay removed your nails will be in the same, if not far better, condition than before.  This is why I have given you a page dedicated to the issue of MMA. I believe that, as well as making your nails look beautiful in the short term, we should be nurturing them for continued health.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and all that are close to you, a very merry Christmas and happy New Year.
